I typically work to order, as creating work requires a lot of energy and I aim to work as sustainably as possible. Clay, whilst a sustainable material, is still a natural and finite resource, and once it's been fired, it can't be recycled. Every piece I make goes through two firings, up to 1260 °C. To try and keep my practice as sustainable as possible, I work in small batches and to order, which means that my lead times are typically 4-8 weeks depending on the order.
